The course "Implementation and Standardization of Protocols and Procedures in Orthopedics" is an internal training event dedicated to sharing and optimizing best clinical practices throughout the entire orthopedic patient care process.
The goal of the course is to provide concrete and updated tools for managing clinical risks, standardizing protocols in the operating room and wards, and improving the quality and safety of care through a multidisciplinary approach.
The program systematically covers essential topics such as informed consent, the use of checklists, patient preparation, anesthesia and perioperative pain management, antibiotic prophylaxis, management of blood loss, and anticoagulant therapy. A significant portion is also dedicated to the postoperative phase, focusing on nursing care, patient education, rehabilitation protocols, functional recovery, and proper discharge management.
The course concludes with an in-depth analysis of the optimization of the new electronic medical record, promoting the integration of processes and continuity of care, creating a platform for cultural and clinical exchange with other sites, and a data collection tool essential for scientific research activities.
The training activity takes place with the contribution of specialists and expert moderators, alternating between frontal presentations and discussion sessions, aiming to promote a shared, effective organizational model that focuses on patient safety and is applicable across different GVM Care & Research locations.
